Yesterday, my bestfriend and I had the pleasure of being asked to photograph the North Coast Stand Down.  I have never attended this yearly event but have heard about the amazing goods and services offered to our local veterans and their families.

The NCSD runs almost completely on volunteers and help from community organizations and businesses.  Veterans and their families are provided with food, lodging and other vital services in a supportive environment.  NCSD even provides transportation to the site as well as services for the veteran’s beloved pets.  I can honestly say that they’ve thought of everything to help these folks out.  It was an honor to photograph the services being provided.

Please consider helping with next year’s event.  You can contact and volunteer at their website.  Here are the following services provided:  food, employment, veteran benefits, MediCal/MediCare help, clothing, transitional housing, mental health services, haircuts, pet services, dental care, transportation, community networking, support and children services.
