You know what’s hard? Family Pictures. You know what’s harder? Photographing your own kids. Seriously.
A sweet tender moment between my three children is an impossible task – if I have a camera in my hand. Someone is always hungry or cranky or too busy for mom to snap some successful shots. The idea of, “This will be over faster if you just cooperate!” typically falls upon deaf ears when it comes to my kids – or any kids for that matter.
But you know what? I’m ok with that. Shots like this:
Or even this:
These are totally ok. These are my kids. I can remember the moment I took the shot and how much fun we eventually had taking the pictures. Or how their sister styled them (notice the shirts tucked into the pants) and threatened them with bodily harm if they made her look bad.
I admit, it’s also nice to have pictures more like these:
But I love the goofy ones equally as well.
So the next time you are dreading a family picture session – relax. Enjoy the time you’re getting with your monsters and realize the imperfections can be quite perfect.
